You mean those words on the Statue of Liberty are meaningless now? Tired, poor, huddled masses, wretched refuse?

Now, all of a sudden the descendants of those folks don't want similar folks coming into this country anymore................wow.

Since when did those words on that statue become our Constitution? They were not even written by an American. Just some poet or someone in France. Let France take all the misfits of the world if they believe in that.

If America didn't like those words back when the French gifted it with Lady Liberty, they should have erased them.

Which shows how much we cannot depend on assimilation. They despised the USA except for the money and government handouts obviously, they hated Americans. Being brought in as an 8 year old and raised on welfare handouts did not lead to any love of this country or our people.

You can take the Chechnyan terrorist out of Chechnya but you can't take the Chechnya out of the Chechnyan terrorist.

I like the no Muslim under 50 part. I never understood the asylum system. So you're supposedly running for your life in Central Asia and Africa and they relocate you to America. Seems to me you should be seeking refuge in the nearest safe country.

We can still hold true to the spirit the statue represents and still be selective in regards to who immigrates here. Allowing people whose values are in direct conflict with American values doesn't make sense.
