If one has consented to their surrender, one has no grounds to object.
Coincidentally, government is quite careful not to trespass upon the rights and liberties of the sovereign people.

The Constitution does not grant us our rights. It is the chains on the government to prevent them from taking our rights and then giving them back to us for a fee as a privilege.
Who's version of rights? Every person, faith (maker), country, region, and continent have different opinions of what is a right.
At no point in recorded history has a "maker" ever come down and stated a country is not securing the rights they have given their creation and replaced those with people who will. Even now you can find an abuse of about every human right imaginable across the globe, that happen every day without intervention by a "maker." Rights are principals of freedom, and they can be taken away by human means. If they couldn't then prisons couldn't exist since they function by isolating people from society and taking away their freedoms.
What rights are "being legislated away" anyways? Being so vague the only "rights" I can think of where people are complaining are ones that require tin foil headgear to believe. You would have more people interested in perpetual motion machines then those crazy rights definitions.

Pursuant to the Declaration of Independence, government has two jobs:
1. Secure rights, and
2. Govern those who consent.
Anything more is suspect.
Anything less is unacceptable.
