Sometimes they ARE the ones writing the laws. Some are obviously above the law. Some are operating within the law but doing so in a detrimental manner to society as a whole.

It's not as simple as "prosecute them."

Not only that, there are still uninformed millions who think the economic problems of this nation are the fault of our weakest and most vulnerable citizens--those who might need some help with little things like, you know, medical care and feeding their families.

There are uninformed millions who think the "answer" to our financial ills is to do crap like get rid of a bunch of teachers or destroy all unions.

So the entire system is rigged and fraudulent. If you can't prosecute them and you can't affect change through legislation or by voting out the insiders, your choice is to not participate.

As I stated, hope you don't have a bank account or borrow money.

Everyone should stop paying their mortgages and credit card bills tomorrow. Only way to crash the system and get a new one in place.

All great points. And it is these types of points made in the above quotes that so vividly underscores the fact that all the back and forth griping and whining about how evil this party is and how incompetent and irresponsible the other party is IS NOTHING BUT NONSENSE AND BS.

Neither the Republican Party NOR the Democratic Party is blameless. Neither is preferable to the other. Neither party is working in the best interest of the people of the USA, and--most pertinent of all--neither party has any actual power anymore.

This is because high-level politicians from both parties are nothing but slaves and puppets of the people with the real power: multinational CEOs, the heads of global energy concerns and banks, and insanely wealthy lobbying groups.

The "Us vs. Them" mentality is not only completely ineffectual, misplaced, hypocritical and lacking any basis in reality or reason, it is nothing but a distraction used by the Powers That Be to keep us at each others throats while they screw us over.

But it's so fun for a guy making $46K a year to blame all his ills on a guy making $12K per year and vice versa.

Can't we just play along?

^ ^ ^ This will prove to be the most relevant and substantive post in this thread.

What has happened is that even millionaires can have difficulty managing financial aspects of their lives, and yes, there are some people who are poor by choice, but all of that is immaterial.

The wealth is being concentrated upon way high. Eventually, 50 people are going to own well over 50% of the wealth and property around the world, and we will all, in some way or other, be working (paycheck to paycheck in most cases) to subsidize the lifestyles of these 50 people.

I do NOT begrudge people who are better off than me. I think people in the $250K/yr category and up to a few mill a year are being screwed and played along with the rest of us.

I'm talking about the mega-billionaires. The people rigging these things. There's a handful of them that just seem to continue to rise up and up, and do so, demonstratively, on our backs.

This isn't a partisan issue, not a racial or gender issue, not a religious issue, not even a "haves versus the have-nots" issue. There will always be people of wealth and fewer financial worries as well as poor people; so has it always been.

This seems more of a series of planned power grabs that were instigated insidiously through the guise of public policy and a change in the political climate.

The court has already tossed out the case. If you have enough money, the law doesn't apply to you.
