Wow, there is a more socialist plan than anyone else in the government has proposed so far.
Well the Dems are just too afraid to come out and say they want COMMUNISM.
Socialism is when the workers own the plant.
The left don't want that..they don't want to own their own business.
The left want the government to do everything short of nationalizing business.
Because to take that last final step is COMMUNISM.
But that word is frowned upon now..the new, hip word is "Command Economy".
Keep your eyes out for it.

That is indeed what you are saying, Government didnt make them pay this wage, so they did it on their own.
The problem is, it had nothing to do with government not being involved, it had to do with competition for workers. Heck, North Dakota is in the top half of state taxation in the country.
Free Market Principles, combined with low taxation, is the reason for this.
No, OIL is the reason for this.
Now, if only every city had an oil field, then Walmart would be forced to pay millions of workers $17.40 an hour. Oh, but wait, then the price of oil would collapse and the oil fields would be abandoned.
Oh well, I guess the OP's point is complete crap then.

Gibberish.
It's not even that complicated.
They set up oilfields in the area that pays ridiculously higher wages than the norm for that area. Those wages pushed up wages across the board in the area.
It also has the bonus of being remote, ugly, cold, and inaccessible relatively speaking.
Low taxation has nothing to do with what's under that ground up there. North Dakota could have the highest taxes on Earth, and we'd still be witnessing this same phenomenon.
Free market principles blah, blah, blah...all bullhockey. This is an exception made possible by oil.
Nothing more, nothing less.
