But we are ALL beside the point. When Obama made that statement, it was so loosely worded, to the point where nobody, left or right, really knew where "literal" was, or where he was even going with it, but I think that was by design.
That wasn't some last minute, off-the-cuff point he was making, but I think it was as far as he would take his ideology in a public forum, with millions of television viewers.
As time goes on, I firmly believe Obama is filled with contempt for small business America, and his arrogance has reached a level where he has no boundaries or filter, and will stop at nothing until he changes the small business and upper-middle class demographics.
Obama may not be an overseas war monger like Bush, but he is certainly a domestic class-warfare monger, and needs to be stopped.

I agree. I also believe that he is all for "wealth redistribution" which sounds great to people when they think it means that they get some of Warren Buffet's wealth, but loses it's shine a bit when they realize it means that their larder is about to be plundered.
And this remark by Obama was clearly intentional and well thought out, and worded very carefully. How do we know that? Because the man can't string two words together without connecting every one of them with "Ummmmmm, Uhhhhhhhh..." when he goes off script.

I also agree. One of these days, I want a president, not a politician.
And this goes both ways - to include a congress who's main objective isn't winning, or losing, or obstruction - no matter how necessary it may appear to be.
So self-made people stopped existing after President Obama made his famous statement.
No, they just suddenly, and for the first time, had a president who, instead of praising them for their innovative entrepreneurialism, marginalized them and minimized their success and hard work.
I think many productive Americans were a bit surprised to hear that class-warfare-baiting nonsense from a standing president.
