It's going to be more difficult to know when to be worried about a student who may in fact be thinking of trouble if schools see pop-tarts and conversations like the one in this post as huge concerns!

What's next? Maybe a 30 day suspension for not liking something?

They want to help fellow students be as safe as possible. It isn't like school shootings don't happen.

Some of us are sad about events like sandy hook and want them prevented. Apparently, that isn't universal.

You can prevent these things if you do not create monsters...persecuting boys for being boys is not a good idea.

Yes, I agree, but I highly doubt the next 6 year old will be doing anything.

Oh, and what makes you think that because they are talking about a gun is going to make the "the next" school shooter?

No wonder you think the way you do....
Thanks for adding irrational thought to the conversation. I will repeat, the 10 day suspension was going overboard, but there was nothing wrong for them to question the boy about what he said to make sure they knew and he knew what he meant by that statement.

I wonder what the next two or three generations is going to look like now that Liberals seemingly dominate our educational institutions and are permitted to spew their ideologies on to our children.....

Welcome to the generation of bed wetters.....

Oh my goodness Urban, I think we agree on something after all....

I don't see anything wrong with questioning the kid about what he was saying..... but to involve law enforcement and suspend the kid? Hey, this is how it is these days...

2. A child deaf child in trouble because his name when "signed" looks to much like a gun.

Your point is well taken. There IS a bigger picture here. This was not an isolated incident.

From the article by the OP:
The boy was questioned by the principal and a sheriff's deputy, who also wanted to search the family home without a warrant, Henkelman said. "He started asking me questions about if I have firearms, and [the deputy said] he's going to have to search my house. Search my house? I just wanted to know what happened."

The 11 year old boy was questioned by two authority figures without the presence of his adult parent. The deputy questioned the father re: what firearms he had in the home, and wanted to conduct a warrentless search of the home.

Everybody is scared. Common sense is getting thrown out the window. Nobody has any answers or any solutions. Civil rights are being trampled on. I am also glad that my boys are grown.

I'd be in jail, if that was my kid.

Man or woman, the bus driver would be the first to get a real good ass beating.
