Have you ever lived in Miami? MANY children grow up in homes in Miami speaking Spanish or Creole or other languages from other countries. Just because the parents have children who are born in Miami that doesn't mean they speak English in their homes. There are many businesses in Miami where the first language spoken in Spanish, and in Little Haiti there are many businesses where Creole is the first language spoken. People can live comfortably in Miami without speaking English. When kids start to school, they start to learn English.

It's easier for her because the Defense is asking leading questions (that is allowed on cross) so she isn't having to give a narrative. They cannot ask leading questions during Direct Examination.
