I read it, I understand it, and we all can see through the smoke screen.

People get pissed off when black is called white, when perversion is called normal. Marriage was established as a social mechanism for children to be born, not for homosexual's (or hetersexual's) pleasure.
So you want the government to prevent infertile opposite-sex couples from marrying. Got it.

OK, then please cite the section of the law that threatens reverends with jail time if they perform same-sex ceremonies. Heck, I'll make it easier for you: cite any reference to any law that threatens reverends with jail time if they perform same-sex ceremonies.

IC 31-11-11-7
Solemnization of marriage between persons prohibited from marrying
Sec. 7. A person who knowingly solemnizes a marriage of individuals who are prohibited from marrying by IC 31-11-1 commits a Class B misdemeanor.
As added by P.L.1-1997, SEC.3.

Some groups, including the Campaign for Southern Equality, were encouraging same-sex couples to apply for marriage licenses in states that ban same-sex unions as a protest. But now that protest would come at a price.
Lawmakers in the Hoosier State have updated a 1997 law that makes it a felony to falsify information on marriage license. So, any couple of the same sex filling out those forms would automatically violate the law since there are only sections for one male and one female.
The law now states that it is a Level 6 felony, punishable by up to 18 months in prison and a fine of $10,000. The old law had a punishment of up to three years in prison.
It's unclear if Hoosiers were actually breaking this law, according to The Northwest Indiana Times, but the updated law will take effect on July 1 of next year.
And the law doesn't stop with just the folks getting married. It also applies to the people—whether they are a judge, local official, or member of the clergy—who conduct gay-marriage ceremonies. They could face a $1,000 fine and up to 180 days in prison."

It has nothing to do with banning gay marriage (different debate) but instead has more to do with falsifying legal documents.... which is against the law in every state.
Really? It has nothing to do with banning Gay marriage? If this applied to heterosexuals there would Lawsuits flying "left "& ""right"!

Children will be born with or without marriage.

I suspect a lawsuit is in the works.

It was announced today by the ACLU and an organization called PennsylvaniaEquality that a suit on behalf of 27 Pennsylvanians was filed in Harrisburg against the state's legislation prohibiting same sex marriage.

You see, like Indiana, Pennsylvania bans same sex marriage by legislative action and it is not written in the state constitution.

This is why it is so scary that the GOP has been taken over by the American Taliban. One of our two major political parties is no longer even trying to hide the fact that they want to convert the United States into a Christian theocracy.

Is this what the Republicans mean when they say that they want a smaller, less intrusive government?
