Yes, there is a war....but not from the repubs....

That was a pretty good spin though....
You are attempting to deny the obvious, that it has been the GOP that has been waging the war against the poor. It wasn't Obama that reduced SNAP, it was the House. It wasnt Democratic governors resisting to expand Medicaid, it was Republican governors. It wasnt Obama holding up expansion of unemployment benefits, it was the GOP.

WASHINGTON – Forty-eight million Americans will have their food stamps benefits slashed starting Friday, when a recession-era boost in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program expires.

The move to cut back benefits will be the first wide-scale change to the program affecting nearly every single participant. The 13.6 percent cut comes out to about $36 a month less for a family of four getting government assistance or $420 a year, according to the Department of Agriculture

This might be the first time I agree with you on something.

You are attempting to blame this on bush?

Why did obama not extended these benifits? Answer the question.

Don't deflect medcaid, unemployment (which obama exteneded for what damn near 3 years), stay focused, this is about snap, a program that obama could have extended...

Now, you party wants to neglect needy Americans.
You're exhibiting intellectual laziness MTA. Republicans do not have a problem with helping the needy, we are sick of people taking advantage of our society's generosity and we also realize that too much help does more damage than good. Can you comprehend this? At all?!?

Everything needs to be cut or maybe you don't mind borrowing from China?

As Paul Krugman wrote today:

Quote:
Republican hostility toward the poor and unfortunate has now reached such a fever pitch that the party doesn’t really stand for anything else — and only willfully blind observers can fail to see that reality.

The big question is why. But, first, let’s talk a bit more about what’s eating the right.

I still sometimes see pundits claiming that the Tea Party movement is basically driven by concerns about budget deficits. That’s delusional. Read the founding rant by Rick Santelli of CNBC: There’s nary a mention of deficits. Instead, it’s a tirade against the possibility that the government might help “losers” avoid foreclosure. Or read transcripts from Rush Limbaugh or other right-wing talk radio hosts. There’s not much about fiscal responsibility, but there’s a lot about how the government is rewarding the lazy and undeserving.

As Dr. Krugman pointed out above, budget deficits are the smoke screen. The GOP isn't interested in reducing the deficit. The much touted Ryan Budget increases the deficit -- but does cut taxes on the rich and slash social programs. They also aren't interested in cutting defense, a major expenditure for the nation, nor addressing increasing revenue.

A $36 a month cut. Boy is that deep! I hope that still have enough to pay for their cable/internet service and airtime for their smartphones.

But...but....what about the children!! The Liberal excuse for everything.

The temporary Bush tax cuts for the wealthy did not end. They have been extended over and over for the most part.
