Collusion is illegal.

Are airline passengers stupid enough to pay sky high prices for food?

Maybe. A food business at the airport does sort of have hostages rather than customers.

Maybe they can also get some no-show jobs out of the owners.

The Seattle metro has been outperforming the rest of the US for some time. I think this metro area will fine.

Washington State and it's economic engine (Seattle metro) has had it's minimum higher than the rest country and have outperformed it. These things can work in areas with high education and well paying job.

Prove it. You have a habit of declaring things as false with no such coherent argument

SeaTac is a small suburb south of Seattle where Seattle's main airport is found. Yesterday voters approved a ballot measure enacting a $15 per hour minimum wage. Washington state already has the highest minimum wage in the U.S. (9.19/hr).

I listened to an interview of a sandwich shop owner at the airport. He said that his labor costs were going to increase by about $90,000 per year, and he has no idea where that money will come from. He expects that the Port of Seattle, which runs the airport and regulates his pricing, will have to agree to some price hikes. Right now he is required by the Port to charge prices no more than other similar businesses in the region.

I expect that some of the fast food places in SeaTac will just go away. The ones that remain will hire and keep only the most experienced and most productive workers. Teenagers, recent immigrants, people just out of prison, etc. need not apply. In effect they just tore a bunch of rungs off of the bottom of the career ladder in SeaTac, WA.
How the hell is a small sandwich shop going to
face an increase in costs of $90,000...Assuming he is now paying the minimum of $9.19 the added cost to reach $15.00 adds up to 17,275 man hours, at 40 hours a week that would require him to have 45 employees...I call bogus on this guy.

I have no idea why anyone would object to a minimum of $15...At a wage that low every cent will go back into the economy, plus it may get some off assistance, which need I remind you, that you pay for with taxes.

Are the posters in this thread so stupid that they think the City of Seatac only covers the airport? Wow! It covers 10 square miles and over 25,000 live there.

City of SeaTac : History

The City of SeaTac incorporated on February 28, 1990. The City is approximately 10 square miles located halfway between the cities of Seattle and Tacoma with a population of about 25,000. Sea-Tac International Airport is located entirely within the city boundaries. The City of SeaTac operates under the Council-Manager form of government consisting of seven elected Councilmembers and a professional City Manager hired by the City Council.

What about the employees who were already worth $15 an hour?
