The more she irks the puritans, the better. I love watching all the holier-than-thou people in the world slag her off for doing what she pleases. Evidently they have nothing better to worry about.

I said nothing about outlawing anything, I said many Dutch parents do NOT approve the drug culture in Holland, or the hard core pornography which is in plain view everywhere, or the in-you-face prostitution, etc moral decay, which was legalized by the libertarian left in the 1970s and 1980s.

I rarely, possibly never, agree with this OP, but she's not a native English speaker, so I think we should cut her a break in the spelling department.
No. Everything else she wrote was perfectly fine, and like I said, I see it all over the internet. It's a simple word. You don't have to agree with me, but you don't get to tell me what I should do, either.

In Portugal, ALL drugs were decriminalized recently and by most accounts is a success. Surely not anything worse than before. Less resources wasted on prohibition.
Cannabis use increased 200% among the Dutch youth, and in Portugal the use of hard drugs such as cocaine doubled after decriminalization.

Only some people think it is cool to use the F word on tv all the time, so Christian or whatever morality someone wants to mention is at least helping for young people to focus better or more important things.

The Pink/Gay Parade has been going on there for decades and I remember being at work in retail at the time and not getting one customer in the door due to the Gay parade and little kids walking with their kissing 2 moms and/or dad. Everything was so over the top and just done to shock.

I don't have issues with gay people but just as a regular couple I don't need to see what they should do behind closed doors! Especially not in front of little kids!
You should put it into perspective as most assuredly, the rest of the world does.

the Netherlands is noted for many things of which they can be proud for being forerunners but they too, have their little inconsistencies.

While attending the various anniversary celebrations of the liberation of Holland, I'm constantly amazed at the oxymoronic nature of our hosts deriding the Germans out of the bitterness of atrocities committed against Holland during WWII in a nearly constant litany and all of this being offered up while being driven around in a Mercedes Station Wagon they were proud to own.

Walking the streets of Amsterdam; one need not actually toke themselves, as the wafting fumes of those who are thusly engaged, on a near constant basis at any hour of the day, are quite enough to keep you in buzz land. One can see virtually anything verboten elsewhere, simply by walking the many ally-ways where it is thriving as a legitimate business.

C'mon now; your moral outrage is misplaced and there is no meaningful chagrin being shown by the people of Amsterdam towards Miley's performance; merely that of a press needing something to tweak over.

I can somewhat agree with him in the fact that kids shouldn't be exposed to pornography or prostitution. I mean, what adults do is their business, so if they want to watch porn, so be it. If you're married, watching it on the occasion can help in spicing things up. Moderation of course being the key. Not to mention most porn is just down right cheesy, though I guess it isn't supposed to have too much emphasis on the sub-plot if you know what I mean. As for prostitution, not that I would partake, but I would support it's legalization, given that it is the oldest profession in the world, and it would probably put a huge dent in the sex slave industry. However; I wouldn't for example support a brothel being set up right next to my kid's school. There is a time and place for everything.

Finally... libertarians tend to lean right, but republicans I suppose like democrats have that you're either with us or against us mentality and immediately get labeled. And you wonder why I have a growing dislike for either party?

What's your point? Is there an increase in crime? That's what that poster was getting at.

The point is that many locals don't like it, but are forced to look at it anyway, because it is everywhere you look in Amsterdam.
