I can give an example of where Democrats (and RINOS) do it. Not so much from the poor, but take from the middle class and give to the rich. We know that the area surrounding DC is now the richest (by median income) region in the nation. DC metro area is super-rich: 7 of the 10 ten counties are in the DC suburbs.
Yet what do democrats propose as the solution to almost every problem? Take money out of the pockets of those in flyover country, and spread it around DC.
So give us an example of stealing from the middle class to give to the rich then.
This premise that wealth somehow gets transfered from the poor (or middle class) to the rich is faulty on it's face. In the first place, there would have to be existing wealth to be transfered (property, money, etc.). Next, there would have to be some means by which it is extracted from the lower class to the upper class. Can you explain how this is done? No one has yet ever explained how this happens. Yet the claim is always that of wealth transfer from poor to rich.
Few, if anyone, ever question this. It doesn't happen.
Wealth is created. An entrepreneur creates wealth when he creates something of value that other people want. A product or a service that there is a demand for. I always like to use Bill Gates as an example of this, because of his tremendous success, and because he is well known to everybody. Also because he is a Democrat, and the accusations are always that it is Republicans who are the "evil rich."
Bill Gates began writing software in college with a friend. After college they continued to write and sell software. At some point (I don't have the history at my fingertips), Microsoft was born. Whether or not he was still working with a partner at this point, I don't know, but that is how Microsoft began, from very humble beginings, by a guy with a talent for programming delivering software that people wanted.
Now, if you want to argue that Bill Gates stole or otherwise accomplished a "transfer of wealth" from the poor and middle class to his pocket, go ahead. Ignore Bill's intellect, the effort he put forth, and the countless hours he doubtless put in to make Microsoft what it is today.
By the way, Bill Gates made a lot of other people rich in the process. That's how a successful business works.

I was also going to point out that taxes can indeed be theft, especially if they are for the purpose of redistributing wealth, which today they more often than not, are.
Any taxes that are not for the purpose of funding essential services (keyword, essential) are tantamount to theft.
The mentioned "billionaire" may own the farm; but, he is not the farmer, and wouldn't know how to raise a tomato plant, I'm willing to bet.
The example you provided is an example of government manipulation, not an example of "rich farmer getting richer on the backs of the poor."
Poor example. But, none the less, it illustrates the problem of government involvement in free enterprise.
The man who owns the farm is the farmer because without the owner, there would be no job or property for the people working in the fields. The people you call "farmers" are nothing more than employees.
Are you champions of democracy really going into hysterics because the person the people voted for most is being elected? Guess what: If a socialist candidate gets a majority of the votes in 2016, they'll be elected. The beauty of a respresentative democracy is that the whiny minority doesn't get their way at the crossroads of progress. Deal with it.
I can't remember any elected Republicans from Seattle at any level in the 20+years that I've been here. The spectrum runs from center left to far left. Here's a video of Sawant. It's very long, but you can listen to about 2-3 minutes starting at 17:00 where she talks about all the high net-wealth households in Seattle. Then she decries the fact that we can get our hands on that money for public purposes such as transit, and to plug a $56 million city budget shortfall.
Then around 27:00 there is an interesting segment where she talks about her wish to convert Boeing to a "democratic public ownership." In other words, it would be in line with the classic definition of socialism: government ownership of the means of production.
Perhaps the Cold War is not over after all.

Does anyone wonder why the rest of Washington would give a minor body part to eject the area from the state? It's hard to imagine how you could collect that much "stupid" in one area, but, as you can see, it plainly happens.
