I agree. I don't really like this deal, but something had to be done. I'm glad that anyone in Washington was able to stop saying "I won't compromise on X." As Paul Ryan said tonight, when you have divided government, you're not going to get everything you want.

The deal will be available to read on the House site tonite it was announced.
Transparency? That's refreshing too.

It is astounding how they can craft a bill that is a turd sandwich but since they made kissy face on TV members of the forum are impressed. From my understanding the bill raises spending, Patty gets social spending most likely in UE beni's and Ryan gets more spending for the MIC. And it raises taxes called fees to supposedly pay for it, I reckon mmm hmmmm.

"You got into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small

towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's

replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the
Bush
Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these
communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's
not surprising then
they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or
antipathy to people who
aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or
anti-trade sentiment as a way to
explain their frustrations."
That's not demonizing; that's just stating facts, pure and simple.
Which bits do you not agree with?

Do they clinging to their guns? Yes.
Are they clinging to their religion? Yes.
Are they bitter about immigration? Yes.
Do they have anti-trade sentiments, which cause job losses? Check.

How was he demonizing anyone?

Perhaps you should revisit the meaning of the word "demonizing."

Here’s what’s in Paul Ryan and Patty Murray’s mini-budget deal

Quite a coincidence!
The budget needed to be presented to the House fast. The House is going to recess any day now and won't re-convene until after the new year. Ryan wanted the bill in the hopper, so it will be the first for the House to consider after convening.
The intent of both the Representative and the Senator in crafting the budget was to show both could compromise and come up with a good budget, and to prevent another potential lockdown in January.

With no budget passed, Congress has to battle everything twice a year to keep the government going, and the battles are causing great discontent with voters, who are in the mood to fire them all now.

Part of the bi-partisan effort was done in good governance, and the other part was done in self-preservation. Both Ryan and Murray like their jobs and want to see the perpetual bickering cease, as do most of the other Senators and Representatives.

Obama's departure to South Africa for Mandela's funeral had nothing to do with it. No one knew when Mandela was going to die, and the budget had been worked on by both for a full year. There was real urgency to get it into the House hopper before the recess.

Now that it's been presented, who knows? It is possible the House may stay in session and consider the bill before recessing. If it is passed, it would give all the Representatives something to honestly claim when they are back home for the holidays. For many of them, the 2014 election is already off and running. Passing the first House budget in 4 1/2 years is something to brag about.

I am sick of the idiot-in-chief running the US into the ground fiscally. I am sick of that fool making the US the laughingstock due to his foreign policy.

He checks to see if his narcissism can withstand any damage before making a stand on any issue.

I didn't think it was possible that anyone can be worse than Carter but the current jackass in the WH has proven me wrong a thousand times over.

Carter did two good things that I can remember off the top of my head. He deregulated the airline industry as well as the railroads.

O-idiot is spending the US into insolvency, wrecked the health care industry, alienated our allies overseas with some ridiculous treaty's that my 5 year old know is wrong.

His social experimentation i.e. socialism is a dismal failure.

This is what happens when you elect a community organizer to office. He should recognize what a dismal failure he has been and do the country a favor and resign.

I'll have to hear it. I don't think I ever heard a GOP rep make a speech without some kind of attack.

It's ironic you say it is refreshing to see someone say something without attack, and then you post a whole litany of petty partisan attack posts. Not very refreshing.
