Of course he had to force it. Would you buy health insurance if you were told up front that your premiums were going to line the pockets of the carriers CEO and shareholders? And anything left over would go to pay the bills of people sicker than you? And they would have to be... four figure deductibles and/or penalties for non-compliance would ensure a steady flow of cash into insurance carrier coffers. I get that Americans need to be forced towards UHC. Not that UHC in itself is such a bad thing. AMERICAN UHC is a bad thing. What we have in America is a PROXY PAYER health system. Costs are so extravagant that even a tooth cleaning costs more than the average workers weekly disposable income. So an "insurance" carrier pools cash resources and pays health providers on your behalf. Building in profit for themselves in the transactions. A Ponzi scheme. If healthy 20 somethings are NEEDED to pay into the system in order for it to survive then it cannot survive long term because healthy 20 somethings ARE STILL ON THEIR PARENTS COVERAGE! Obama didn't want this. This isn't how UHC is done anywhere else on the planet. But its how it had to be done here because EVERYWHERE else that you have UHC, you have TAXES to pay for it!!! You can't have TAXES in America so we have PREMIUMS. And like a casino, the house always wins. You must pay more in premiums than you receive in claims. That is the premise of the proxy payer system. That's mostly impossible in the modern age of 7, 8, and 9 figure health bills. Just saying.

I didn't know that. It is funny when you say that. During the last election one of my thoughts is that they were trying to make Michele into a Jacquelyn Kennedy. I had to laugh because in my opinion she does not have the class to pull it off.

I wished him well and went to work. It was during his 3rd year that I began to pay attention and didn't like what I was hearing. The Obama-cult was like nothing I've seen before. Newsweek editor Evan Thomas summed up the worship pretty well when he said ---
"In a way Obama is standing above the country, above the world. He's sort of GOD. He's going to bring all different sides together."
The media stood with him for 5 years and in no way will throw him under the bus.
It was there with the Clintons. Absolute worship --- the media promoted that sleezebag couple as though they were some kind of god and goddess who could do no wrong.
That whole "Man from Hope" barf-fest to make the Clintons into more than the scum they are.
The media's job is to keep the electorate informed so we can monitor our government and vote responsibly. They did not do their job in Obama's case. They were too busy trying to sell us on their opinion. Barbara Walters finally came clean. They were trying to sell Obama as a messiah.
The constitution notionally provides for freedom of speech and the press; however, the Obama administration attempts to restrict the exercise of these rights in practice, unless it is in praise its government and leader. The government seeks to mold information at its source. Anyone who speaks out against Obama is demonized.
Are you really so partisan as to not have noticed that Obama gets quite a lot of pushback in trying to run this country LIKE A DEMOCRAT?! The net result of filibuster and partisan gridlock is sometimes nothing. As I said, and I didn't stutter. IMO it would be better to actually RUN THE COUNTRY than to run down the man running the country. If you don't want to consider UHC for the unwashed masses, then do not, under any circumstances, allow Progressives to get control of the White House. If you fail to prevent that, then you will have to contend with the distasteful task of sabotaging their efforts at health care reform, environmental advocacy, Medicare expansion, infrastructure improvement and <gasp> Climate Change.
