CCTV FOOTAGE THROWS NEW Light on schoolgirl 'refused' allergy pen
..

"CCTV footage from inside the pharmacy -which included audio- has given investigators new insight into the incident.
Sources have confirmed to the Irish Mail On Sunday that when Ms Sloan went into the shop she left Emma-whose condition was deteriorating- outside. Ms Sloan asked the pharmacist for an EpiPen but was told she needed a prescription which Ms Sloan did not have. The CCTV is understood to confirm that Ms Sloan did not tell the pharmacist about her daughter's emergency condition. Ms Sloan left the pharmacy and tried to take her teenage daughter to Temple St."( article then goes into what happened next, help from doctor, ambulance, brought to temple st 1 Km away. Also mentions threats to pharmacist)

...continues "CCTV footage has been given to gardai who are investigating the circumstances surrounding Emma's death. Footage is understood to show Ms Sloan going into the store and asking for the EpiPen while Emma remained outside. After being refused because she had no prescription she left minutes later to tend to Emma. A source said , "Emma didn't come into the shop with her mother. She was outside deteriorating. Caroline is on CCTV asking the pharmacist for the Epipen. There is also audio on the footage. She left when she was told she needed a prescription. The whole thing lasted just minutes and is all on CCTV...."

so what we have is what we been stating:

1) the pharmacist never saw the girl, so the "she could have made an assesment and not let the girl die!" is thrown out the window. Mother left her distraught and barely breathing daughter outside

2) the footage shows that the mother didn't explain to hte pharmacist how urgent her daughter needed an epi pen

the entire episode lasted a couple of minutes

This is kind of what I assumed from the very beginning, so maybe the people shouting, "Killer pharmacist!" can give it a rest now.

Meanwhile, kudos to the media for their unbiased presentation of this tragedy. What total pieces of crap. You can count on them every time to give you the juicy, shocking, distorted half-truth every single time.

funny how once its shown that the pharmacist never saw the girl and the mother never told him the severity of the issue, those who came down on the pharmacist, are suddenly silent?

thats because they knew they were wrong in the first place, but now have no emotional argument to make because the pharmacist was shown to have no evidence that there was a life threatening situation.

Those people are the ones the mainstream media preys upon - knowing that one bit of sensationalism will stir them immediately to outrage and fuel the dissemination of their "viral" bullsh*t.

People are so ready to spew righteous anger. Why is that, I wonder?

You guys are misstating the issue. There was an attempt to absolve the Pharmacist without regard to what actually happened. That is at least morally untrue. A Pharmacist, given full knowledge, could have chosen to assist and could be found morally wanting for not doing so.

As the facts unfolded it turns out the specifics were such that the Pharmacist did not have full knowledge. So he or she could not be expected to assist without knowledge of what was happening.

The major contention however remains. The Pharmacist would have been morally required to assist with full knowledge.

With full knowledge and ability. If he had the power to diagnose accurately and dispense the medication and was physically able to do all these things, who wouldn't?

And the media portrayed it as some heinous act perpetrated by the pharmacist. Attempting to explain various scenarios of why he may not have gotten involved is no way the same thing as "morally absolving" him.

I just find it a bit sick that so many people jumped straight to, "What an evil person" without any of the details or questioning the facts. This is happening way too often in our society thanks to the epidemic of yellow journalism.
