Typically, liberals are the welfare bunch and don't pay tax. The result: everything is free.
That plus liberals are too damn dumb to understand that really, nothing is free. Somebody, somewhere, has to pay for everything unless that person is totally living off the land, in which case, the land had better be his, bought and paid for.
It's a mental disorder. All the cylinders aren't firing.
Free healthcare is used to refer to where the cost of the healthcare is borne by the entire society, not individuals, as such its paid for by society as a whole, and provided at no SPECIFIC cost to the individual.
Its a bit of a misuse of the word, because we ussually dont refer to roads, fire, police, and the military as "free". But its quicker then saying "healthcare provided at no specific cost to an individual, while still being paid for by everyone in society". We could, but most people assume the person they are discussing this with isnt a complete moron, and that they are aware that free healthcare is not in fact free. Something most on the left do in fact understand despite the apparent assumption by those on the right that this is a valid zinger or gotcha.
Zingers and "gotchas" while they sound nice do not actually improve or add to the conversation, although they are occasionally entertaining.
bek for 60 years everything was free. the good life has ended. we have come to the end of that fairy tale. and the 54% of the population that does not work-- does not like that.
Can someone explain to me what free healthcare is? How can something be free? Thanks..
'Free' in the sense that you pay healthcare taxes and don't have deductibles or co-pays when you get ill. You won't get a bill if you have the flu, a broken leg, or cancer.
Yes, if healthcare was free, it would have to be paid through everyone's taxes. But so what? If there was true universal healthcare in the United States, everyone would get treated without any out of pocket costs, not just the poor people. People in America just don't think everyone deserves the same level of healthcare. Everyone complains about how their taxes would go up for free healthcare, but I don't hear anyone whining about all the billions wasted on military. Why? If we cut military costs by even half, we could spend more money on healthcare.

Strange claim given the fact that they created a law which requires people to purchase a private insurance, which is pretty much the opposite of free healthcare.
