I think you already see the lies. Take today White house claiming it has reduced medical cost. But CMS says drug patents running out ;less use of medical because of cost in recession have reduced medical spending;Plain and simple. Medical cost of like to like have continued increasing.

Same way all these unpopular things are paid for. Penalize the responsible people by making them pay more than they already do. Make people buy coverage they don't need nor want. All those of us who had insurance and took responsibility for our lives will have the honor of paying for those who either elected not buy insurance or made poor life choices resulting in the inability to buy their insurance.

Actually aca is a republican model for healthcare. But you don't think it's strange that the party that is most vocal about repealing aca don't have a plan afterwards?

paying for things is not in the american mind set.
the concept that debt is meaningless is fueling our spending decisions.

health care is not a right, there is no reason for the government to come up with a medical plan for the people.

People like to point fingers, but in all actuality this situation regarding healthcare or any other market for that matter will not improve. It's very simple really, we are no longer a constitutional republic. Here in the U.S. we practice crony capitalism or corporatism. Both sides participate actively. So if we really want to progress towards anything else, we are going to have to reject the two party system in masse.

Doesn't matter if healthcare is a right or not, we've long moved past that stage.

As a nation, we are broke. Most individuals are broke. If you mean that we have plenty of debt, which according to our monetary system, equates money, then yes we've got plenty of it!

Three words: Fractional Reserve Banking

Anyway, how much is our debt now? 70 trillion? I believe that's what the G.A.O. published in 2013.
