And the poorest can't afford to live in the liberal cities because the COL has risen so much even with their higher wages.

That has more to do with supply and demand than it does liberal or conservative. Usually high cost liberal cities also lack land, usually nature related, thus when you increase population faster than you can build, the cost of living goes up.
I usually don't believe him either. Self checkout machines were created because the technology was there and the tests proved that people didn't mind being their own cashiers.
Self checkouts didnt gain popular because the cost of labor to pay someone to stand there was cheaper than the machines..

All that shows is that they are heartless bastards.. who care less about the people and more about money. So, because of this callousness our options are : have people work for us at a wage that doesn't allow them to support themselves or replace them with computers.
Maybe we all need to be more careful consumers and start choosing companies that care about people over profits.. The days of a company caring about its employees are long gone.. taken over by the green eyed monster.
The issue here is not raising the minimum wage.. the issue is raising the morality of the swine that would make such callous decisions.

tens of thousands lost their jobs and no one reported on it? Not even the almighty Fox News reported this story because it didn't happen the way he describes or it probably never happened at all.
what employer pays tens of thousands of employees who have ZERO worth? That's bad business.

And this goes to tie into the other thread about vouchers and the failure of our education system.
Spending on self checkout cash registers exceeded 1/2 a billion dollars a year, how many minimum wage jobs does that eliminate at $10 an hour? How many at $7? an hour?
Urbanlife- You have NO idea about anything lol . Living in NYC you need to make at least 30 or more an hour. Do you know why? Hmmmmm , do you know the cost of living there and the taxes to be paid ? People in NYC are professionals with degrees of some sort or business owners .
Depends on where you live in the New York metro and depends on how many incomes a household has. Two incomes of $15/hr does reach $30/hr for a household. I pay taxes and consume goods here so I am aware of the cost of living in NYC. There is about 8 million people in NYC and about 30 million in the entire metro, not everyone of them is a business owner or professional with degrees. There is too many stories in this metro to even come close to trying to sum up people here like you tried.
We don't have any manufacturers anymore! That's the PROBLEM
So how does raising the cost of manufacturing, making it less likely that we can export our products, increase the number of manufacturing jobs?
