"Barack Obama knows he’s a man running out of time. Reflecting on his presidential legacy in a long interview with the New Yorker’s David Remnick, Obama said, “at the end of the day we’re part of a long-running story. We just try to get our paragraph right.” For Presidents' Day, Politico Magazine asked a panel of distinguished historians to take up the obvious question this raises: How will Obama’s paragraph read? Did he get it right? What will be his place in history? Here’s what they told us, with some smart framing thoughts from Stephen Sestanovich, a scholar at the Council on Foreign Relations and Columbia University:"
Sorry libs.....Barack Obama just wasn't Mr. Hope and Change after all. Even the far left historians from the nation's elite universities won't give him much more than a mediocre ranking after 6 years........which is astonishing considering what they expected he would be able to accomplish being a well-spoken man of high ambition and even higher rhetoric.
It just didn't work out as planned. A lost opportunity for the first black President, indeed.
Uhhhh...
You elected a guy whose greatest ambition in life was to stir controversy and confrontation among ignorant people.
( what do you THINK a "community organizer" does? That's exactly what they exist to do! )
Obama gets the blame for what he deserves, but certainly not from the MSM. He is powerless -- he's being told what to do, not doing what he wants to do. I'm not sure what "scapegoats" means.
I'm reading the usually babbling, contradictory nonsense from a right-winger. Crystal clear.
If Obama is powerless, he shouldn't be blamed for anything, yet you're saying he isn't being blamed enough by the MSM, even though he's only being told what to do.
Have Limbaugh and Hannity pick a lane for you. You're all over the place.
The Pubs pretty much succeeded in shutting down his hope and change. History will show he was too weak, too willing to seek consensus over destroying his opposition particularly in the beginning. By the time he learned to stand his ground, it was too late to accomplish anything. [MOD CUT/off topic]
Ah, the myth of Barack Obama's consensus building. When did he ever seriously seek consensus? I recall lots of talk about it, but when it came down to it he basically scuttled every possible chance to work with Republicans. In the beginning it was freezing them out of the healthcare debate, telling them to get in the back of the bus. He invited Paul Ryan to a speech about the national debt, only to berate him and call his plan un-American while Ryan was there in the front row. That wasn't the first or last time he did that. He even did it to the Supreme Court Justices at a State of the Union Address!
He had a grand bargain deal where John Boehner had the votes for tax increases, but Obama reportedly called Boehner on the eve of voting and asked for more, knowing the bargain would fall apart so he could use it as an issue about Republicans being the "Party of No."
Obama has no desire to built consensus, and never has.

The republicans don't like socialism.
That's what your hero was trying to instill. Redistribution of wealth making Peter pay for Paul.
Simple, Obama thought he could run his agenda by talking to TV cameras, the idiot didn't realize he has to work with Congress to get things done. The stupidest part are the liberals who re-elected him and not realize he is completely useless as a lame duck president...
Congress went out of its way to obstruct him. He was too nice to the Boehners and McConnells. He should have brought a gun to a knife fight instead of a bouquet.
