"Barack Obama knows he’s a man running out of time. Reflecting on his presidential legacy in a long interview with the New Yorker’s David Remnick, Obama said, “at the end of the day we’re part of a long-running story. We just try to get our paragraph right.” For Presidents' Day, Politico Magazine asked a panel of distinguished historians to take up the obvious question this raises: How will Obama’s paragraph read? Did he get it right? What will be his place in history? Here’s what they told us, with some smart framing thoughts from Stephen Sestanovich, a scholar at the Council on Foreign Relations and Columbia University:"
Sorry libs.....Barack Obama just wasn't Mr. Hope and Change after all. Even the far left historians from the nation's elite universities won't give him much more than a mediocre ranking after 6 years........which is astonishing considering what they expected he would be able to accomplish being a well-spoken man of high ambition and even higher rhetoric.
It just didn't work out as planned. A lost opportunity for the first black President, indeed.
It doesn't matter if Obama wasn't a 'great' president. He's still light years ahead of McCain, Romney and any of the other useless dregs the Republican party had to offer to America as an alternative to Obama.

Whether he was a great president or not is a matter of opinion....he will always be remembered and honored for being the first black president. And yes he was hope and change because years ago a black man would have never held this power.
1) This is coming from the Right, which means it is off the mark. Frankly, since this is what Pubs believe, the OPPOSITE is true.
2) If President Obama is not considered a great President, one can only imagine what Republican George Bush was. Bush must create an entirely new low classification.
3) What kind of historian classifies someone before they become a part of history? Answer: a right-wing one.
He isn't done with his second term in office. A little premature, no?
Yes, he still has three more years to totally destroy what's left of this once great country. Have faith in the comrade, he can finish the job he stated...
I actually slogged my way through that whole article and if anything reviews really depend on the individual historian. They each have wildly different criteria and often go into issue-specific tangential analysis some of which is highly speculative.
I tend to trust surveys more and in that Obama currently ranks in the top 50-75% of presidents.

Interesting post considering the topic is Obama's legacy. How do you know what McCain's and Romney's legacies would be? The answer is you don't. So why even postulate on something that doesn't exist?
Sour grapes about 6 years too late. loll You were duped by Hope and Change. Just admit it.
LOLZ. Yet you're still starting threads......
Hope and Change met a record amount of republican filibusters.
