All we need to do is sit back and watch. Everything will sort itself out in due time.

McCain said there is no military option for this. If he doesn't want to bomb, and who does?

Has it ever occurred to you that Putin may simply do what he thinks that needs to be done and doesn't give a sh1t about Merkel / Obama / the EU? (Especially since he knows them so well)?

Ukraine was among the world’s leading producers of a number of minerals. It was one of the world’s top four producers of gallium, the fourth ranked producer of rutile (accounting for 8% of world output), the fifth ranked producer of titanium sponge (5% of world output), the sixth ranked producer of iron ore (3% of world output), the seventh ranked producer of manganese ore (2.4% of world output), and the eighth ranked producer of ilmenite (5% of world output) and steel (2.3% of world output). The country had significant coal reserves but was dependent on imports to satisfy most of its petroleum and natural gas demand. Ukraine was also an important transit country for natural gas and petroleum from Central Asia and Russia to Europe (Corathers, 2012; Gambogi, 2012a, b; Jaskula, 2012; Jorgenson, 2012; World Steel Association, 2012, p. 9).

Thank you for proving exactly my point, Mr. Ellipse Poster.

Yes you are correct............Russia does what is in their best interest..........as do we. Liberals think we are evil when we do what we do though. Go away I say.

Truth is, Romney was correct about Putin's intentions while Obama was in his usual dreamland.
I personally would rather we mind our own business, but world is more complicated than that. Not to mention all the painful backtracking we'd have to do foreign policy-wise to get there.
I didn't vote for Obama, but while looking for positives in the aftermath of the 08 election, I kinda was hoping he could pull off the seemingly impossible feat of putting us in a more favorable light around the world and dial back military intervention where there is nothing we can decisively accomplish, and/or where we aren't wanted.
I think talk is cheap, especially when it's in hindsight. Romney spouting off doesn't make him look good, it just looks like sour grapes today. And him calling Putin a thug way back in 2012, and today, might sound real good and belligerent, but it's not going to advance or add anything to improve the situation.
