Sabers will be rattled, threats will be hurled, Russia will take back the Crimea and maybe parts of the Ukraine and the Baltic states. Cold War will return. Russians will unite behind their new man of steel. Fascist vs communist? It doesn't matter. Will they try to go further? Maybe not, they don't have the resources now to sit on that many people.

Disheartening.

They almost went to war during the Cuban Missile Crisis in the 60's, I sincerely doubt if either side is willing to get back to that point. They installed the "hot line" when they reached agreement, neither side wants to see things escalate to that point again.

Huh? We wiped out the Iraqi army in no time. It was terror groups that blended in with the population that is causing all the problems. Does Russia have that too?

They would if they were invaded. Dunno why this is so hard for so many folks. Just ask yourself how you would react if some other nation invaded yours. People are human, you know?

Baltic countries no. THAT would trigger a full on war.

The ONLY trump card Russia has are its nukes; that's IT.
