What are you talking about? The Federal Government had always owned the land in question ("always" being since 1848 when we got it from Mexico through warfare). His family never owned it.
The family has been grazing since the 1800's and then in 1997 the laws changed. Why would the Sierra Club and President Obama care that these tortoise were saved and 130 cows killed due to unwarranted stress?

Your comment makes no sense in response to mine. I never said you didnt have a right to amend the Constitution, I said (as does the Constitution that i quoted) that you do not have a right to insurrection.

Actually, the law changed in 1989. It was in 1993 that the Federal Government attempted to renegotiate the grazing lease with Mr. Bundy. Some of the articles mention Bundy grazing on this land and paying the feds from 1973 to 1993. Federal grazing leases last 10 years, so it seems to me he probably took over the ranch from his dad in '73, negotiated a 10 year lease, and then renewed it in '83. 1993 would then be when the lease would have to be renegotiated for the first time under the 1989 law change.
Bundy didn't like the proposed 1993 changes in the grazing lease. He refused to accept it. He also refused to leave the land. At that point he became a thieving trespasser.

The facts are clear. Cliven isn't paying to use the land and is trespassing. We the people don't have the right to steal whatever resources we want.
