She doesn't even want her job back. The District Manager is offering to rehire her and she says she needs a few days to think about it. If pocketing a $200 tip is worth your job, you're pretty despicable. Also, since the total amount did NOT read $225, she should have noticed an issue.

How can you come to that conclusion?

If pocketing a 200 dollar tip is worth losing the job, that's a reflection of how crappy IHOP must be to work at, not how reprehensible SHE IS!

And IHOP has to know this is exactly what people must be thinking if they're offering her her gig back. They don't want the bad publicity.

Looks that way to me too. What a crappy chain and a lousy manager. That's like the filling station manager who puts the prom queen down in the oil pits to clean and has her in tears. What an a-hole!! Save that for Brenda and her two teeth.

If it was the customer's intent to only to give a $2.00 gratuity and explained to me, as such, I would have returned the money.

The proper proceedure for this is the customer calls their credit card company and files a chargeback.. Then the credit card company deals with it.

You dont fire her for doing what the customer agreed to pay.

There have been big tips going around lately so might be an honest mistake. However, I'm sure a little voice told her it wasn't hers, however, she listened to the bigger voice that told her she needed a new iphone.

Ridiculous assumption without knowing if she already found another job or what her motivations are.
