Statistics would beg to differ with you. Being born poor makes it almost a statistical certainty that you won't be able to lift yourself out of poverty. This has been investigated and proven time and time again.

That has nothing to do with them being poor, has to do more with a lack of parenting, encouragment to get into gangs, drugs, and education.
Democratic solutions only increase these problems thus making it even more difficult.
