There are a few great universities in the south. Duke, Ga Tech, Vanderbilt, Emory, Rice come to mind. Maybe Texas also. But there are many more outstanding ones outside that part of the country. Montana, Utah, Idaho? Not even close.

Red states do have good schools, but that's a pretty short list when you look at the best American universities.
I would like to pass a law that people who move here can't vote for a period of at least 2 years.
They leave their blue police state because they are tired of their high taxes, laws, mandates, licenses, rules, repression and all the other crap that comes with the democratic party only to move to a red state and elect the same liberals that caused the situation for which they are leaving.
Welcome to our Red state, please think good an hard for what you believe in before you vote.
MASSIVE insecurity on display here. Inferiority complex, persecution complex, xenophobia. Typical of the conservative mindset.
Why do you guys feel compelled to start these threads ten times a day? It's like watching a redneck get drunk in a bar, and start picking fights. Where does all the butthurt come from? A question for social historians.
Conservatives (basically older white males) are a shrinking part of the US population. The fastest growing parts of the country are urban areas. That includes the ones in "red states". Cities tend to be liberal. When the red state urban areas get large enough, the states will turn blue. It's already happened in California, Colorado, and Virginia. Georgia, Arizona, and Texas are next.

Then why don't you list them? Wait! I will:
o of the top 15 medical schools in the US, 14 are in blue states.
o Every Ivy League school is in a blue state.
o There's one center of commerce, finance, fashion, media and culture in the US: We call it Manhattan. In a blue state state.
o Five best orchestras? All in blue states
o Top technology centers in America? Blue states (NY, CA, MA)
o Highest income: 18 of 25 in blue states
o States with highest poverty: bottom ten -- all red states. Least poor? 9 of 10 blue states
o Healthiest states: 9 of 10 blue
o Best educated states: 14 of 15 blue states
So, like, you make wild assertions -- let's see your list. You see, blue states INVEST in their people. Red states? No so much, and the results show.
