A gang of 10 or so of us used to 4X4 out to those natural hollowed out rock formations called "the tanks" that used to provide the only water for wagon trains passing through and build us a good fire in the stone oven chimney built there generations ago and get a brisket simmering and argue over choice of sauce's
Drinking a whole bunch of beer before dinner and finishing the evening off with a good single mal,t gazing up at those stars, before retiring back to the outskirts of Yuma is one of the great moments I miss about now spending winters in Florida.
Now we're making new memories with other like minded people.

Hell; given the opportunity to meet many of your folks over the years I've come to the conclusion we're not so different.
We all want to be able to provide a decent life for ourselves in a respected manner. The end of the day it's not our politics we'll be remembered for or measured by.

Nope, they are protecting us from those sneaky Danes. Yep, those modern day Vikings are coveting some of our ice covered territory. It's contrary to the Monroe doctrine don't cha know. So the great and mighty Yanks are protecting us from Danish expansionism BUT when Canada claimed sovereignty over the Northwest passage in order to protect the west from Russian expansionism then Washington declined to support us in that. All in all who and what Canada needs the most protection from is the USA.
