This exchange student should not have been in the owners garage but he did not deserve to die, this is sad and absolutely ridiculous that this occurred.

Celal Dede, 46, said he never imagined his 17-year-old son, Diren, could have
been shot for entering someone's property. The outraged dad arrived from Germany
so he could bring his son's body home after the teen was killed by Markus
Kaarma, who claimed he shot the teen in self-defense.

His son, an all-state soccer player and a junior at Big Sky High School, was mortally wounded after a Missoula homeowner, Markus Kaarma, found the teen rummaging through his garage early Sunday.
Kaarma, 29, who faces one charge of deliberate homicide, said he shot the teen because he feared for his life after at least two burglaries at his home in the previous three weeks.

My guns haven't killed anyone, I'm sure I don't know what he means.

Are you kidding me? He was on someone else's property.

Slam illegal activity before you slam legal activity.

Hey, dont break into or trespass into other people homes, their is nothing of your in their house, their is no reason for you to be there...The castle doctrine is very clear on this and was created for reasons like this.

The men knew he was not meant to be there...If you want to break into houses fine, stay in Germany.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes...

It seems the man is being charged because he was planning to kill the next burglar. Not just because he shot him... just to clear that up.

You cant plan to kill someone, even if you are defending yourself.

Being on someone else's property isn't enough which is why the murderer is up on charges. In all civilized states you also have to have a reasonable fear for your life and you have to convince a jury that it was reasonable to fear for your life. This is how civilized states deal with such things while barbarian states have the wild west where a lot more people get killed including a lot of innocent people. Not the NRA gives a crap about the innocent people murdered.

Do you automatically shoot someone without warning when they come on your property, seems like they set this up leaving the garage door open and a purse in clear view. They knew exactly what they were doing, a video camera would have been more prudent or an alarm system.

Yes you can, if you plan to react if some break into your house or tries to car jack you, is that planning to "kill" someone?

No.
