The PBS broadcast United States of Secrets makes a strong case for throwing former VP Dick Cheney and his lackey General Michael Hayden in prison for circumventing the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Next Week: How Silicon Valley Feeds the NSA’s Global Dragnet

I guess companies like Google and Microsoft won't be able to claim innocence any longer.

Considering that the Obama administration has been proudly carrying out the same policies that the Bush administration did, if Cheney goes to prison his cellmate should be Eric Holder...

Actually, Darth Barry is taking secrets to a whole new level. What's disturbing are the things he doesn't want the American people to know through his pathetic policies. Consider all of the hidden jibberish in his Executive Orders and the (Un-) ACA, and you'll know that he's a desperate man with a very sick mind.

Agreed and the PBS report mentions that President Obama himself is complicit in codifying many of the Bush/Cheney policies on domestic surveillance. This is by no means a partisan debate as both side have trampled the U.S. Constitution and if citizens don't demand reform things are only going to get worse.

Microsoft probably volunteered data rather than wait to be asked.

The PBS report makes it clear that former NSA director Michael Hayden isn't being completely honest during this tense exchange.

He can indeed be prosecuted for circumventing the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution as the DOJ refused to sign off on domestic surveillance at one point. Bush, Cheney and Obama may never go to prison but I'm not so sure about this guy. No wonder he's fighting tooth & nail to justify his actions.

Congress and "other American elected officials," is who the NSA should be spying on and reporting the corruption to the citizens.

Everyone should know just how much the government lied to defend the NSA | Trevor Timm | Comment is free | theguardian.com

If you blinked this week, you might have missed the news: two Senators
accused the Justice Department of lying about NSA warrantless surveillance to
the US supreme court last year, and those falsehoods all but ensured that mass
spying on Americans would continue. But hardly anyone seems to care – least of
all those who lied and who should have already come forward with the truth.

This was, indeed, a powerful piece that was probably watched by 1% of Americans, with fewer than that giving a damn.

As to demanding reform, I'd guess most Americans today would scoff at the notion that that could even be done, short of all-out anarchy with the complete disintegration of law and order. The system is that far gone and out of our hands.

The corporation is in charge....of everything. The days of watching a major golf tournament without a large corporate logo in the middle of the fairway in the middle of your screen....and without the prime purpose of the name contenders being mobile ads with shirt front and collar logos....are behind us.

Everything is for the corporation. And the political system is the last of all things we could possibly pry from their iron grip....even if anyone cared.
