The only reason I asked the question is that my daughter went to college with a few black women who really were irritated with how the eligible black men seem to gravitate towards white women only.

And to add to what you said, there is a statistic to consider. While Black people tend to be quite supportive of interracial dating/marriage, 8.5% of married Black men have a White spouse. In 2008, 41% of interracial marriages involved White-Hispanic couples, versus 11% being White-Black couples.
