i would not try to disarm 4 men with assault rifles with my pistol.
i would get out of there with my family and call the cops.
they will bring a lot more than 4 rifles.

If you are in Montana, THIS is all you need to know:

MCA 45-3-103. Use of force in defense of occupied structure. (1) A person is justified in the use of force or threat to use force against another when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that the use of force is necessary to prevent or terminate the other person's unlawful entry into or attack upon an occupied structure.
(2) A person justified in the use of force pursuant to subsection (1) is justified in the use of force likely to cause death or serious bodily harm only if:
(a) the entry is made or attempted and the person reasonably believes that the force is necessary to prevent an assault upon the person or another then in the occupied structure; or
(b) the person reasonably believes that the force is necessary to prevent the commission of a forcible felony in the occupied structure.

Note that the law applies to ANY "occupied structure", AND you have to have "reasonable belief" that the use of force is necessary.

I can envision about 15-30 people trying to force their way out of the opposite door the long gun carriers came in. Your family is far from the door and there is a human jam of people also trying to esacape.. NOW WHAT?

I forgot to include that two of your kids ae in the McDonald's play room.

LOL indeed. Do bad guys with guns typically give fair warning before they open fire? Do they say, "OK, everybody, I'm a Bad Guy With A Gunâ„¢ -- you have two minutes to evacuate and/or find a Good Guy With A Gunâ„¢ before I start shooting! GO!!"

You didn't answer my question. Do bad guys give fair warning before they open fire? Yes or no. Seems like a pretty simple question.

A gun doesnt mean force or use. Because someone has one in open carry you should watch and be ready. The only reason you are entering a store with a gun (in your thread at A15) is for a political statement, and or robbery and or just crazy. Civil unrest might make sense to carry a AR around but I think you would know that and likely not be hanging out in a taco bell

Mostly likely often hand guns on your belt is often actual use for OPEN carry. . Killing someone without knowing anything is murder, guns in open carry or whatever are for self defense not playing detective and super hero without FACTS.

When you are parent out in public with your kids and you see a civilian carrying a gun then that is a safe attitude to have. You don't get to second guess when the shooting starts.

You guys are making a LOT of assumptions based on a hypothetical question....the opportunity never said they were there to shoot.....he said they walked in a store. ...
