Well I doubt I will see this happen in my lifetime and I am still pretty young. Though becoming a new state would do nothing to fix the problems of Northern California and would probably make their problems much worse.

First of all, CA is too big to be one state geographically.
I've lived there and it is like night and day between folks
in southern Ca and Northern Ca. It would also solve the problem of having only two senators
represent the state. Two is too few.....
