That is why we have to do both, shut down access to the jobs and close the border.
That's what I have been saying all along. It isn't just the migrant worker who is destroying our economy that is the concern but terrorists and criminals also. The latter aren't interested in jobs. We do need to complete the double layered wall in the most porous places and secure our ports and airports better. That isn't closing the border as there would always be legal ports of entry.

We are not obligated to provide anything. In fact, that's a great idea. Put them all in a stadium or field in a boarder town and surround it with troops. They can leave as long as it's right back across the border, or they can stay and wait for the food and water to run out.

Harry Reid is not allowing these bills to get voted on or even come up in committees. He is doing Obama's bidding.

So yes it's Congress not doing its job, but more specifically, it's the Democrats in the Senate that are not doing their job. If they did what they should be doing then we could be blaming Obama for not signing or vetoing the legislation, which he would probably do. Either that or he would just ignore it and not enforce it like all the laws currently on the books concerning immigration.
The latest bill passed in June 2013 is sitting in the house right now waiting on passage and funding. It was passed by a bipartisan vote of 68 to 32 in the Senate.

Why don't you tell your tea party buddies to stop demanding a fence then?

Thank you for standing up and being such an eloquent spokesperson of conservative republican policy. I'm sure you speak for all with your comprehensive grasp of the situation. You would do well as a Fox network talking head.

Ir was also supposed to include putting an end to illegal immigration so we wouldn't be having this discussion now. That's the only reason it ever passed and was signed by Reagan.

Evidently, Glenn Beck is providing it.

All the republican house has to do is introduce a bill stating that all illegals should be immediately rounded up and thrown out and provide the funding. As current law stands, if President Obama ordered all illegal aliens to be immediately rounded up and thrown out he would be breaking current federal law. Besides the fact that Congress hasn't approved the funds to do so.

The problem could be addressed much more efficiently by donating the billions of dollars building a fence around the US to the economies of Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. Seems like nation building in those countries would be the cheaper solution compared to the cost of deporting immigrants in addition to the border control.
