So, you insist people must do something, but you refuse to authorize them to do it, and then you sit back and cry when nothing gets done. All righty then

According to the polls 80% of Americans wants Congress to act, so what it their excuse?

Here are some of the bills, some introduced by GOP, and some by Dems, and many have bipartisan support.

H.R. 15, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act

A modified version of S. 744, a major immigration bill passed by the Senate on June 27, 2013, H.R. 15 is a comprehensive bill addressing border security, a path to citizenship for the undocumented, interior enforcement, visa backlogs, higher and lower skilled work visas, visa backlog reduction, family visas, and the immigration courts, among other issues. See Guide to H.R. 15.

H.R. 3163, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity Act of 2013 (CIR ASAP)

A comprehensive bill addressing border security, enforcement, employment verification, visa backlog reduction, STEM visa increases, and citizenship for the undocumented, among other issues, with more generous benefits and fewer punitive proposals.

H.R. 435, the Military Enlistment Opportunity Act of 2013

Would allow certain undocumented immigrants to obtain legal status through military service, including beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program

H.R. 2377, the Encourage New Legalized Immigrants to Start Training Act (ENLIST Act)

Would allow certain undocumented immigrants who entered the U.S. as children to obtain legal status through military service.

H.R. 4303, the Border Enforcement Accountability, Oversight, and Community Engagement Act of 2014

Establishes a border oversight commission and border ombudsman charged with overseeing border enforcement and protecting human rights

H.R. 3431, the American Families United Act

Amends the current immigration system to allow legalization of some of the undocumented and address the separation of immigrants from U.S. family members. No new paths to legal status are created.

They are milking it and hoping no one notices that the Cons are not doing their JOB, again. They would rather play their games while Rome burns than to miss an opportunity to point fingers at the other guy.

3. He has blocked every effort to create a process of getting this under control, by telling congress that he would veto any effort to seal the boarder without what he calls "comprehensive immigration reform"

4. He has blocked every effort to have comprehensive immigration reform by saying that he would veto any legislation that did not include a path to citizenship for illegals.

5. With programs like Fast and Furious he has helped to destabilize the border area making those south of the border desperate to get out (read run NORTH).

Barak Obama has in fact done quite a LOT.

All of it entirely wrong, utterly reprehensible, sometimes illegal and clearly unconstitutional…
All good points.

Harry Reid passed a comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill with a Bipartisan vote of 68-32 in the Senate on June, 2013. It sits in the house dead by conservative republicans who hate the president so much they would rather see the nation flooded by illegals than do anything about it. The ball is in their court. Three of the top business leaders in the world have just taken out a full page in print just to say exactly that.

Your figure is from several years ago, but let's assume it was the same last year (although I saw $12B). The point remains the same be the number 12 or 18: The cost of enforcing existing laws is $18 billion, and the results are what they are. The estimated cost of sealing the border 90% is $28-$40 Billion.

So, are you willing to spend the money. You said no. You are asking for stuff you are not willing to pay for.

They simply want the border secure first then worry about what to do with those here.

Then provide the funding for that effort. The president is asking for 3.7B right now. 1.7 of that goes to adequately care for those children until their cases are heard in the court and 2B of that is for increased border agents to stop the immediate flow and judges to expidite the deportation of those already here.
So far, all the president's got back from congress is the finger.

Correct HR15 is the House version of that Senate bill, and has 193 co-sponsors. The bill would authorize funds to build a double fence (triple fence in hot-spots), and boost the number of border patrol, and get National Guard involved, add electronic surveillance etc. The House refuses to vote on it, while 80% of Americans say they want them to act.

So why doesn't Perry and the other southern State governors call out their State National Guard to secure it, it is they that are in charge of their State NG Units, or didn't you know that? Don't they care about you anymore or could it be they are using it in a game of politics while counting on those like yourself not knowing some basic Facts? So, if you really want to know why they have not done all in their power you should just ask them, just don't hold your breath waiting for an answer.
