By definitions that I provided links to it is a crime. Not to mention the crimes they commit after entering. Things like document fraud, tax evasion and tax fraud. etc.

I am happy to respectfully disagree with you. The illegal act of entering illegal tends to be the gateway crime which leads to even more serious crimes.
Lock them up in a tent prison and putt them to work building a fence. We save money on the fence, they work off their debt and it is a win win deal for our country. Punishment to fit their crime.

According to the definitions provided. accepted definitions by the way a crime is when you break a law that the government will punish you for. Seems like deportation might just be a punishment.
