Israel isn't the problem in the Middle East. Israel currently controls a historically disputed piece of land in a predominately Muslim area that has changed hands more times throughout history than a cigarette in a middle school bathroom. Israel HAS to have a strong military because it is literally surrounded by people that have vocally stated their intent to wipe them off the Earth. The relative peace that they see with exception to Gaza is through their strength alone. And just as an FYI...The Egyptian government is just as cruel to the citizens of Gaza. Egypt may not be engaged in an active fire-fight but they have them locked in like animals at their southwestern border just as the Israeli's do.
Now, that being said...I agree that it isn't our obligation to fund them...but Israel is well within their rights to take actions that they deem necessary to protect themselves. No other country would ever be expected to take rocketfire without retaliation.
Yep-I meant to add Egypt as well as we are also tied up in treaties with them giving them $1.5 BILLION per year and as you said they are just as inhumane to the people in Gaza. Muslim countries seem to look the other way when it comes to the plight of Gazans as they believe the images of war help their own causes.
But that leaves us with no answers and the least our country can do is stop willingly participating in the ongoing massacre.
Why do some act like Israel having a strong military is dependent on financial assistance received from The US?
Last I checked every single Israeli is required to serve, the Mossad is unmatched and the nuclear stockpile is full.
If our country continues to deteriorate should be continue to give Israel what amounts to $10 Million every single day?

I read that 1/4 were from outside Ferguson MO, from as far away as NY and SF:
About one-quarter of those arrested over that time are from outside the area, from as far away as New York and San Francisco, county records showed.
Is that what you heard and does that translate into "1/4 were flown in from Oakland" or is there another article? Which radio news show?
