Could you imagine the outrage from ACLU if there was an island set up like Gitmo for Ebola exposed people.
At one time leprosy ran rampant, we have come along way from putting the people on an island and leaving them. Why can't they be quarantined in Africa for 21 days before coming back. Or at least an in between spot. Notice even the President doesn't agree with quarantine.
That is what Christy was trying to do, but was strong armed, either by her threats from her attorney, or by Obama, or both, but there are 5 states that wanted to Quarantine People coming back for 21 days, which is not only the smart thing to do, but the safest thing and cheapest way. While people say they will self quarantine, will they? Even that doctor didn't. you cannot trust people to follow rules....especially in this day and age, when everyone drives around above the speed limit and text or talks on the phone while driving, now you expect them to self quarantine? I think not.
No, the head of the CDC said a "breach" of protocol, not that the protocol failed. That man has gotten a lot of blow-back from nurses. Of course, blaming nurses for anything and everything that goes wrong is a time-honored tradition. EVERY nurse knows this: The 'Time-Honored Tradition' Of Blaming The Nurse : NPR
Here's a little blame table for Ebola: Ebola Blame Game: CDC, Tom Frieden, Barack Obama, Mitt Romney and More
Here's what the hallowed Emory U. hospital has to say: "Sean G. Kaufman, who oversaw infection control at Emory University Hospital, told the New York Times that the CDC’s guidelines are “absolutely irresponsible and dead wrong,†and that he tried to warn that they were not stringent enough and “they kind of blew me off. I’m happy to see they’re changing them, but it’s late.†"
A "breach" does not necessarily convey blame. If the nurses weren't provided adequate training, equipment and oversight, a breach of protocol would be probable, but not the nurses' fault. This would be why the CDC is addressing the "breach", because in not addressing the issues of training, equipment and oversight, they created the opportunity for a "breach".
The problem is our Govt has told us so many half truths or lies in all aspects that they no longer have the trust of the people.
They may be 100% correct on Ebola but so many people find them not credible.
while she did take the risk to help others, then when she was aiding the ebola victims....now she is endangering the public
why doesn't she COMPLY with the rules....21 day restriction is not that much to ask, in the name of public safety
While I applaud and am very grateful for all the efforts to combat and treat Ebola in Africa; where is the empathy and humanitarian feeling to guard fellow American people from getting sick?
Must be such a relief to be back home; but 3 weeks is not such a price to pay for all of the grief and heartaches caused, because of lack of concern for your neighbors, friends, anyone you may come in contact with. Come on, watch movies, read books, write a book, have your groceries delivered. Have a stay at home vacation. The New York City Doctor was only home 6 days, before he became ill with Ebola.
Think!!! Please use common sense. I think treating Ebola must cloud the mind a little bit. Don't spread nasty germs around. I also applaud the governors of some states who have stepped up to the bat and said enough is enough; this is serious; not a game. IMHO
she says she WILL NOT honor the 21 day quarantine
she is OUT to make a buck and this is political and it is going to cave in on her as it should
I will be interested in how this will effect her job when it comes out to where she is employed
really the progressives are sooooooooooo stupid!! LOL
