You know petch, some time ago I took out much of whatever I had left out of my bank account (which wasn't major $) and keep just enough in there to pay bills which isn't much at all. Also I don't have any safe deposit box(es) nor would I trust it in there either.

In essence I'll stress: I DO NOT TRUST THE GOVERNMENT AND ITS AGENCIES ESPECIALLY UNDER THIS CROOKED POTUS!

Ever notice how the various usual suspect lib Obamabots dare not tread on a thread like this? It's suddenly time to wash the Lexus! There's no time! There's a thread on Bristol Palin that demands comment, and there's no time left for this.

Bush could have changed this. He did not. Where were the complaints?

Bush signed it into law, or at least an update of it, as part of the Patriot Act. If you had been paying attention back then, you would remember the complaints:
Patriot Act Push Angers Some on Right - Los Angeles Times

By the same token, Obama could have changed it, especially from 2008-2010 when Democrats had the trifecta, but evidently he liked the idea of the federal gov't being able to seize bank accounts.

Tally up the conservative complaints on this thread vs the liberal complaints.

Irrelevant for the most part when the party in power is not yours. The "liberals" complained all the time about war until it was their guy in power.

There was plenty of carping from the right over W Bush at the time. I've posted I don't know how many times an interview by Tim Russert of W Bush where Russert details all the criticism against W coming from the right.

I don't see the point of rehashing it now--Bush has been out of office for nearly 6 years. A better place to focus would be the upcoming 114th Congress, which will likely be all Republican control. If we get to 2016 and they haven't passed any IRS reform, or held any oversight hearings, then I think there will be cause for complaints. If a Paul, Cruz, or Rubio want my vote in 2016, I will have expected them to have addressed this in the US Senate.
