These are some very good observations. I know what Republicans stand for, but I have a hard time saying exactly what it is that Democrats' values are. The Dems have some reinventing to do. Their failure to defend their accomplishments and define what they are left it to the Republicans to do that and it cost them dearly.
That's pretty easy. Democrats are for buying off voters by playing on their "popular prejudices and false claims and promises in order to gain power." They simply don't understand the very simple concept that 2 is more than 1. They thought buying off 42 million people would be enough to keep them in power. They failed to realize that not only did they conflate the 42 million figure the other 274 million people would have to pay for it.
Oops... Fatally flawed. User error. Blue screen of death for them.
There's always 2 years of claiming republicans are racist, that's worked out splendidly for them and then of course there's always the omnipresent republicans should be more liberal socialist to fall back on.
When democrats stop blaming everything and everyone else for all the ills then maybe they'll not get tromped on next time.
It probably never occurred to democrats that people got tired of the finger pointing of Obama, Reid and Pelosi and Co.
Wasn't it some democrat that started the thread about democrats being more intelligent? With such low voter turnout, why didn't the supposedly intellectually superior democrats get out and vote?
Oh wait, they were too busy blaming the American people for getting trounced in the election.
Yeah, that oughta do it, call the American people stupid, that should really win them over.
Well, what does a fat pig do after gorging at the public trough?

The main problem is the Republicans have basically campaigned on being Anti-Obama, much like how Obama campaigned in 2008. You don't seem to realize that your party sold you the Obama plan, tell you what you want to hear prior to election day and figuring out the rest later.

Well it will be a short 2 years if you can't repeal ACA, push forward immigration reform, and spending cuts.

Short memory. That was the Republican response when Obama won a second time. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Yeah sure--just like it did under GW Bush, whose 'base' was the wealthy. That was some economy.
Globalization and automation are responsible, mostly, for our current labor situation. I don't see any party offering any real solutions on that front. However, there is no debating that the overall US economy is better and is doing better than our major developed countries peers
Ignorance lost big. Dems are licking their wounds wondering what happened to their idiot Messiah and their utopia.
They were replaced with opposing idiot messiahs from the other side of the aisle..............Utopia, that sounds like what you and your buds are hoping will now be the big reward for voting in more idiots that are promising you the same thing, you know......Hope and change anyone?
The problem in my opinion is Democrats are too apologetic. They overestimate the intelligence of the American people. They continue to apologize for improving the lives of Americans.
Wow, talk about the epitome of either stupid, or dishonest statements.
They did NOT "improve" our lives. They have harmed us immensely with their forcing their stupidity upon us all.
The lefts behavior today has been most atrocious and it is embarrassing to watch.
Of course "the right" will try to out-atrocious the left now that they got the torch...Get real...taking sides in a shooting match between rival gangs is a no-go at best..They're both criminals..
