No they don't, I live in S.W. Pa, a very heavily drilled area, and I have yet to see a well in a residential area. I do however recall a few that are close, but were drilled long ago before the fracking craze. Some were drilled before the houses were built. There has to be a 2 acre area void of houses or all of the home owners would have to agree to have there houses torn down. That would include almost all of my neighborhood, that ain't gonna happen. You know, you should really know what you are talking about before you spread misinformation.
When you engage in deceptive practices and misinformation such as the one in post # 216 in a attempt to distort the truth. What is your credibility worth ? Taking a comment I was responding to and deliberately making it look like I was making the comment and highlighting phma to mislead others. Now you make a derogatory statement in condemnation about the misinformation of others, when it is your very foundation.
When the well is finished they will have to abandoned it.
They pump neat cement or, bentonite down the casing.
We cut the casing off three feet under the ground.
I am not sure what the code is for oil/gas wells.
But, is it the law that they do that, or can they just walk away and never come back, leaving it to rust and corrode.....that is the question.
And, if it is the law, just how much does it take to get them to follow it if they resist?
The company that put this well in got caught dumping fracking waste into the Mahoning River, they filed bankruptcy and the owner is in prison.....right where he belongs.
I am always getting all kinds of bankruptcy papers, but have no clue yet who will end up owning or being responsible for this well.
