Long overdue, Enigma777. I suspect within a month or two, much of the PD brass will go. This is a dark, defining moment for the NYPD. The worst thing it has faced since the brave Frank Serpico displayed the dirty organization known as the NYPD. Unlike when they murdered Louima, there is clear video in this case.
This case is much different than the Brown case. The cop should absolutely be tried for excessive force which caused death. I totally support prosecuting this cop and hope his family sues and wins civil damages.
The cop used tactics that are clearly against NYPD policy. The NYPD have also tried to cover it up which is yet another example of the blue code of silence.
I've never had serious issues with white cops and have stated that a million times. It's hard to keep up with who's who but I'm consistent.
Oh. And I don't lie. I may mistake a stat every once in a blue moon or a minor detail but its never intentional. Show me a post if you think I'm being dishonest.
I never said you lied...I said that is about the most honest thing you have said...
At the barest of minimums his family is going to collect a rather hefty settlement from the city of NY.
Keep that in mind folks because NY pays out hundreds of millions annually for such suits and when you can't get a fair deal from the city, you at least can sue them and get SOME justice if only monetary.
This case, unlike some of the others, IMO deserved a trial.
I would again urge people to weigh the facts in these cases and THEN reach a decision rather than pulling out your pigment chart and deciding which side you are on before getting all the information.
