EXACTLY!!!!! By George, I think he's got it, if only by accident....
"guns don't kill people, people kill people"
So, now that you went to bed last night and woke with this revelation, why don't you concentrate your efforts on blaming the "people" who's negligence causes accidents and who's criminal intent causes them to use guns for sinister purposes and work on solutions to fix that, rather than blaming the guns themselves?
Of course we can... How do you think Canada achieved a homicide rate about four times lower than ours.
Well, it just might have something to do with the fact that they have a population about the size of California that is dispersed throughout a land mass that is bigger than our own country, but don't let inconvenient facts get in the way of good spin.

Facts are useless in these debates, as well as common sense.
Smaller, less dense population certainly would make a difference in the crime rate. I'd wager that most criminals are opportunists. If you live in an area that is less dense and where there are less people, it only stands to reason that there will be less crime, if only because there is less opportunity.

But aren't Canadian cities themselves far less dangerous than American cities?
Or to be compared to the US such country has to be the exact same size and it's name has to start with an "A"???
Pretty much, yeah. Each country is unique, with it's own factors and sub-factors that all effect the crime rate. Everything from culture to unemployment, to education level, to population density has an effect on crime.
Hell, one link YOU posted even said the amount of led in Petrol attributed to the crime rate, lol.
That's the first time I heard of such a thing... Do you have any data to support that claim?
It's not a claim it's a question. Take note of the question mark.
