I'd agree; except I don't know that leaving the firearm where the kid could access it is actually illegal. Any more than saying leaving keys or prescription medication where a 2 year old can get at them. Sadly the results can be just as tragic.
I'm actually surprised to see that that only 7% of the state has CCLs. Kootenai County is about 11%, and I would expect that rural counties (Kootenai is one of the most urban in the state) would be higher. Could be that rural residents don't bother with them-open carry is legal and not uncommon outside of the major cities.
Actually, yes, it is illegal. In this case, it falls under access and control of a weapon in public, while carrying. You are required, BH law, as aCCW holder to carry your weapon secured and concealed. Totally. If your carrying and your gun falls out of its holder, holster, purse, whatever, or your short rides up and people see your weapon, that to is a rip. Thee reasons why are all to obvious here....

I'll take it as a yes that it is a regretful thing when someone dies far short of old age due to preventable circumstances. Heads up, it is Conservatives dying in this fashion by a wide margin more so than Liberals. Who is stupid here? I'm serious. If living long and well is the goal... which side of the partisan divide is actually getting the job done?
Suicide is the leading cause of gun violence in america and whites are the predominate perpetrators, they need to put the guns down and stop KILLING THEMSELVES
With all these mass shootings in the last few years you'd think whites would stop engaging in savage behavior.
