They are less worried about what other people think. How much of liberalism is saying or doing the right thing not because you necessarily be live in it, but because you have to demonstrate you "care" or think the "right way." It would be exhausting as well as disingenuous,

Liberals are sad, lonely, and miserly because they don't have any meaningful connections outside of the lunatic fringe 'blame/hate America' Occupy crowd. They are perpetually outraged about something and if there's nothing to be outraged about they'll invent it. They're big on poking fun at the mainstream but if you poke back they throw a hissy fit and cry how they're a victim. Humor isn't their strong suit.

Their goal is to make everybody as miserable and unhappy as they are, only then will we all be truly equal in their eyes.
Like Renault said, humor isn't their strong suit.

This isn't an answer to the OP. Apparently blind rage passes not only for humor among liberals, but as a strain of logic as well.

Exactly^^^. We don't get our panties in a wad over stupid sh*t, we don't get offended at perceived insults and we know how to adapt when things don't go our way.

I'm very happy, and I don't follow any ideology. I can't imagine anyone finding happiness through ideology.

Sure they are. On the other hand you could also say it is because they are simple-minded and more self absorbed, caring less about society in general.

But, as long as we're making scientific comparisons...

How would you explain the fact that most comedians and humor writers are liberals?

Ok--there is Jeff Foxworthy and Dennis Miller, and Miller seems like a pretty miserable guy.

Yes, it is. Read it again.

It's hilarious that an ideology that attracts so many hateful bigots is the "happier" of the two. Only in the sense that psychopaths are generally very pleased with themselves, perhaps.

Maybe because older people are more likely to be happier than young dudes and ladies? I'm being serious here. Too; it's quite normal to be a "liberal" when young, just that most of us start "living life" and see it's time to take care of business.
