The State Dept thinks we just need to find jobs for them while Obama has asked Congress if we can invade.

Do the people at the State Dept have any clue what is going on ?

According to the Department of Labor Statistics, Yuma, Arizona had the highest unemployment rate in December 2014. I haven't heard of mass burnings, crucifixions, beheading etc. going on in Yuma. I wonder why that is with all the unemployment?

Do you? Do you realize they aren't talking about active terrorists or are you being intentionally disingenuous?

Yes they do. Poor countries almost always are crime-ridden and violent. Poverty brings out the worst in people - even European people who presume themselves somehow more civilized than everybody else. Somehow all that facade of civilization gets stripped away when people feel they have no hope for a better life.
The majority of ISIS followers are people who are very poor - not the leadership to be sure, but the rank and file are generally from the swells of the hopeless (and thus the angry). Muslim nations that are prosperous - such as Singapore - have little of the violence found in the Middle East.

Locations with high unemployment pretty much always have higher levels of crime an violence (and that is the case with Yuma). And the UE rate in Yuma is DWARFED by that in (for example) Egypt. Youth unemployment in Egypt is about 40%. In addition, the unemployed in the US are NOWHERE NEAR as destitute, desperate (and thus angry) and those in Egypt.

It's not really about religion, it's about economics.

Well, if you ask ISIS, it's about religion, but you may know more about them then they know about themselves

That's because they use RELIGION as a rallying point. It's something all those people have in common - a way to separate them from us. It's just a tool of the leadership to manipulate the poor, desperate and ignorant - really not a whole lot different from the NAZIs using race to serve as a rallying point for the German People when they were poor and desperate.

As I said, in reality it's all about economics - which is why the problems always crop up among the POOR (who feel they have nothing to lose and everything to gain).

She didnt say anything different than the guy who was on FOX NEWS saturday morning who said that ISIS gained a foothold because they were able to provide basic services that the government could not, with him specifically mentioning High speed internet and no one at FOX said anything negative about him in fact, the 3 cohost and the other guest agreed with him.

So I ask you, which one sounds more plausible.

" ISIS gained a foothold because they promised to get everyone high speed internet" or ISIS gained a foothold because they promised they would create opportunity for the people in the area so that they could support their families " ??
