In early February, the Pentagon declassified a 386-page report from 1987, exposing for the first time ever the actual depth of top-secret military cooperation between the United States and Israel — including, amazingly, information about Israel’s unacknowledged nuclear program.

When 2 years old throw a hissy-fit tantrum, they are not usually dangerous to anyone but themselves.
When an adult has a total meltdown, goes on a Stompy-Foot Rampage - they can be dangerous to others.
When that Stompy-Foot Rampage is thrown by the President of the USA -- it is dangerous to the entire world.

What's next Mr Stompy-Foot? Bombings on Israel?

Well, it's about we get the transparency everyone has been demanding...It happens this document is over 27 years ago (so has been declassified)...So many speculate on who knows what, says what and throws around these speculations as fact...now we can actually see just what was going on over 27 years ago

In early February... That really doesn't fit the timeline for being retaliatory.
Why wasn't this a deal back when it occurred two months ago?

It’s Official: The Pentagon Finally Admitted That Israel Has Nuclear Weapons, Too

DOD was responding to a Freedom of Information lawsuit filed by Grant Smith, an investigative reporter and author who heads the Institute for Research: Middle East Policy. Smith said he thinks this is the first time the US government has ever provided official recognition of the long-standing reality.

It’s not exactly news. Policy elites and every president from LBJ to Obama have known that Israel has the bomb. But American authorities have cooperated in the secrecy and prohibited federal employees from sharing the truth with the people. When the White House reporter Helen Thomas asked the question of Barack Obama back in 2009, the president ducked. “With respect to nuclear weapons, you know, I don’t want to speculate,” Obama said. That was an awkward fib. Obama certainly knows better, and so do nearly two-thirds of the American people, according to opinion polls.

Estimates as to the size of the Israeli nuclear arsenal vary between 75 and 400 nuclear warheads. It is estimated that the Israel nuclear deterrent force has the ability to deliver them by intermediate-range ballistic missile, intercontinental ballistic missile, aircraft, and submarine-launched cruise missile.[2] The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute estimates that Israel has approximately 80 intact nuclear weapons, of which 50 are for delivery by Jericho II medium-range ballistic missiles and 30 are gravity bombs for delivery by aircraft.[2]

I never knew that Israel's nuclear program was a secret. I was more under the impression it was a common knowledge.

The Secretary of State's under President Obama have been hinting about a nuclear arms race starting in the middle east for awhile with the Iranian nuclear program going on and the economic sanctions that didn't really put a stop to them having the technology to get a weapon. Now Russia's made a similar deal with Egypt to help them with their nuclear power for energy. Really it's just restarting a prior abandoned program in that country. Let them have their nuclear race now that Israel's nuclear weapons are out in the open. Might as well have all the cards on the table.

This has been a long standing open secret known by everybody but the most incurably gullible (which I'd assume Kibby is). Rest assured, Iran knows this very well.

yeah it was a "secret" in that everyone suspected, but there was no actual proof per se. This is just a way to remind Iran that if they actually lob a nuke at Israel, that Israel is quite capable of wiping them or anyone else nearby off the map.

Might be a mistake though, there is an assumption that everyone lives in the same reality, we have Christians and Muslims both that believe that a Armageddon aka "the end times" is a good thing.

Until they are willing to do that, they have no authority to complain about any other country having some too.
How is the Israeli nuclear program illegal exactly???

I think that's the whole point of declassifying the documents. It's in order to deter Iran from wiping Israel off the map with the hope that the middle east arms race will do for them what it did for us in creating a cold war lasting decades where everyone has them but nobody is using them against each other.

The real questions are:

Are the leaders of these countries deterable?

What are they not saying yet still revealing by declassifying this?

I think the answer to the first question is that it's a ticking time bomb over there. Not a matter of if but when. It's just unfortunate that a WWIII in these times will involve nuclear weapons of mass destruction.

And for the second question I think they're telling us that Iran has a nuclear bomb or can make one perhaps within hours. All the economic sanctions did was delay their progress but now it's complete.
