I seem to recall many on here blaming Obama for high oil prices back in 2013, so when oil prices go up again it won't be his fault or does he take a hit both ways. I also recall Obama placing a moratorium on oil drilling in the gulf after the Horizon oil spill in 2010 and being blamed for high prices.

Cheap oil and gas will end at some point and then the complaints and blame will begin again.

Not only does fracking save consumers money it provides jobs. I realize Americans having well paying jobs is not good for the Dems.

Prices were high because we were not drilling. Obama has reduced permit for oil drilling on federal land.

PICKET: Flashback - Oil drilling permits down 36 percent under Obama - Washington Times

Drilling on private land however is up, something outside of Obama's control. This is causing the low gas prices we are seeing.

So obama is one of the reasons for the high gas prices seen in years past and had not had a hand in the lowering of the current gas prices.

As long as the battle for market share continues we will have low oil prices.

The fact is Obama is responsible for everything bad and not responsible for anything good.

Federal lands account for around 20%, supply, demand and speculation drives oil prices up and down for the most part a small decrease in permits was insignificant, also it is not clear what drove the decline in requests several years ago.

Drilling on private lands is not entirely outside his control and there is a downside to all this drilling, money isn't everything, ask NJ regarding the Exxon settlement.

Republican Presidential candidates will keep us informed of this fact, conveniently ignoring that he won't be running in 2016.

But fracking and the waste water disposal wells that go with it cause earthquakes in Oklahoma and southern Kansas. On Wednesday afternoon there was an earthquake of 4.3 in magnitude near Guthrie. That part of the country is a mess of faults. Of course, if your ground never shakes, you could care less, and go along your merry way.

What caused the New Madrid earthquake in the 1820s?

Great. Just keep fracking OVER THERE (meaning nowhere near me or where I live).

NIMBY? Yep. All day long.
