Oh god forbid you throw the average American a bone! You conservatives have to think outside the box every now and then. I would also include a two year trade school for the young people who aren't college material.
But I thought going to college and getting a degree makes you intelligent? Isn't that what liberals would always tout when it came to intelligence?
College is more than just a want. In order to compete for a professional career, you either need to be a prodigy (which obviously few people are or else it wouldn't be a big deal, now would it?) or have a college degree. And for people who are quite intelligent but not wealthy, are they just supposed to work in a factory, with the risk of having your job outsourced so a kid in China can do it for a few dollars a day, and not make use of their talent? Most places won't hire people who don't have college degrees.
And as others have said, there's not a downside to having an educated society, unless you're of the ilk who prefer stupid people who just follow orders.
Trade deals allow corporations to dodges taxes. My point wasn't that Apple should pay for all of it, but that we should end trade agreements that allow corporations to get big tax breaks and export jobs to other countries for cheaper labor.
And as I said, free education doesn't mean literally everyone gets it. You still have to apply and have some academic ability.
So that the company can have less profit and thus pay less taxes or heaven forbid, they become less competitive and go bankrupt?

I do know how our economics work and how government gets money to spend. Unfortunately neither has anything to do with Capitalism or taxation.
We have a system that works to reduce competition however it can and uses government investment or buying to increase profits over the free market level. The government creates money by borrowing money from the financiers to reduce their risk and to increase their profits. Everybody benefits except those of us that have to actually show up and work for a living. The profits from out productivity are not shared with us because we are so readily exploited in the name of Free Markets and the Sacred Capitalism.
Economists love Free Markets and businessmen loath it. It is nearly impossible to make money in a real free market and the investor class knows this very well.

No, you didn't get exploited. Before you show up for work, you did agree to take certain compensation for the work to be performed, did you not? In that agreement, did you specify the profit of the employer must be shared with you? If you didn't then how are you exploited again?

You can't tax without printing money. The fed injects currency into banks without taxation. Federal taxes are only enforced to curb inflation.
