He should have ignored the guy and kept walking while getting ready to defend himself. When I see a group of young blacks hanging around, I'm on guard but then again, I grew up in a majority black community. My son is attending university in the South and doesn't go anywhere (except school and places where weapons are illegal) without his gun and knife.

Maybe some white guys kicking an unconscious black man in the head would be less boring to you? Then you could call a march and protest racism.
And I said it before and I'll say it again that blacks deserve EVERY SINGLE negative stereotype they've taken so many decades to painstakingly build up and until they change their behavior, non-blacks SHOULD be wary when they're around many of them. And we should be caring less about hurting black feelings when they see us being more cautious around them and we should be worrying more about keeping ourselves, our families and our friends safe from people like in this video.

I totally agree! Their color is irrelevant! What is relevant is that the perps are nothing but f***n' cowards, and I GOD-DAMNED-GUARANTEE that if this s*** happened to my kid, they had better pray that the cops would find them before I do! I tend to be of the school of thought that violence should always be a last resort, however; even I have my limits! Screw with me, or my family with the intention of causing serious physical harm, and it's on like Donkey Kong! Sadly, I feel sooner or later if this s*** keeps happening where people cannot conduct themselves in a civilized manner, people are going to start taking matters in their own hands! It drives me crazy when I hear stories of this happening to innocent folks just trying to go about their lives!

There's a difference between being blamed for something and being responsible for trying to change it.
The point is that black youths such as these are obviously not going to change their violent attitudes unless the message comes from people they trust and respect, and that's not going to be anyone who is not black.
Comparing this again to the Kentucky couple and their 10 kids living in a stick hut, do you believe that the opinion of a suburban vegetarian mom would have any effect on them? We share the same skin color. Our states are next door to one another. Should I assume they look up to people like me and want to emulate me, and if they don't, should I try harder?
Back to your answer, I agree that leadership should come from people who are trusted and respected. I hope you are not one of the posters who complain so vigorously about Black History Month.
