Black unemployment is around 17-18 percent in Cities like Chicago and Baltimore. These Cites are ruled by Unions and Democrats.

As are result we are seeing more Black Americans turning to Conservatism. I have made this point a few years ago and I was slammed by any and all Obamanite for even suggesting the thought.

The Democrats have counted on the Black vote for years and have taken their votes for granted. They see the Dem;s more interested in Illegal Immigration in the hope of having more Democrats in the end.

Would it be interesting if the Black America if over whelmally supported a Perry , Rubio or even a John Kasich.
And that's great. Let people vote for who they want. But what has any republican president done for them in the past.

Blacks are just one special interest group among many in democratic party. It would seem to me its more about what blacks especially those in power promote within the party. Other groups have had success ;so not not all democrats by what they ask for. in any society success starts at home when very young which is why we have failures and successes within all groups . Within inner cities like always you have the street life with ist money attraction to compete with. But the end is just like it was for the mafia members and their associates; prison terms and often death.

You are looking at this all wrong.

The pastor's entire premise is that black people are doing worse than 50 years ago because they voted for Democrats.

My post was to point out hey on some measures black people are doing better than 50 years ago, that's a completely appropriate comparison given the pastor's point.

So for that reason it is only relevant to discuss and compare how black Americans are doing now vs the past.

Hope that clears things up for you

The Democrats have certainly been in control of city governments like Chicago, Baltimore and Detroit for longer that a great many posters here can remember. The Democrats have been in control of state governments like Illinois, Maryland and Michigan for this long, too.

Although the legislatures of these three states continue to be Democrat controlled to this day, the governors of all three states have actually switched to Republicans in recent years, with Michigan electing a Republican governor beginning in 2011, with the other two states going Republican at the beginning of 2015. And there is certainly no gerrymandering in a state governors race, so that is no excuse.

Maryland voted a republican in office because the democrat running felt entitled. Democrats stayed home on election day. No one wants an arrogant person in office which was exactly what Anthony Brown was.
